First sail of the 'Sinbad 2': The "Sinbad 2" nesting dinghy was completed end of November 2012. After that the spars had to be built and the sail, previously ordered, was collected from North Sails. Now she could be launched and tested under sail. We had a moderate 8-12 knots on the day, ideal for a first sail. She handled nicely and showed good stability. The standing lug rig is easily set and dropped and has a low center of effort, i.e. lower heeling force. Simply sitting in the boat, on the floor, was sufficient to provide balance. After the sail a fellow sailor agreed to take a few pics at the more sheltered launching ramp.
