The mortises are cut to a depth of 4mm in 6mm plywood. Transom stiffener battens etc. being glued on - once again plywood sealed and thickened epoxy used to glue the solid timber on, held in place with weights (batteries)

Transom after gluing. The top of the transom is curved. The bulk of the excess solid timber was cut away with the circular saw. Finishing off is done with the flush trim router bit. The plywood guides the bit... I have incorporated two hand holds in the transom. Using a large drill bit I was able to cut away a lot of the excess wood.

The flush trim bit is used to cut the proper shape guided by the CNC cut plywood. A rounding bit finishes the cut-outs properly. The bow transom is similarly dealt with. The top stiffener (outwale) with the hand hold is made up from three layers of ply, dowelled to align during gluing.
11-08-02 11-08-03
The reinforcing for a towing U-bolt and the stringer for the foredeck have been glued on. Stiffeners at the top of the seat risers are glued on in pairs
11-08-04 11-08-05
A sheet of mylar between the two ply panels avoids gluing them inadvertently together... The completed transom, pads for an outboard have been added and an infill at the bottom end to make glassing easier.
