The daggerboard case sides have been cut out previously and had three coats of epoxy. Spacer timbers have been made up and dry-fitted. Again panel pins are used for alignment and glued to one side panel. A mix of clamps and weights keep everything in place. | Once the glue has set all surfaces of the slot had another coat of epoxy and the remaining side piece is glued on. Three edges are squared up, the bottom edge will be fitted against the hull bottom only later. |
Hull panels have been drilled for wiring up. | Mold frames made up from old particle boards. |
My strongback from previous builds has been hauled out of storage and set up level. | Next the molds are set up and screwed to the strongback. |
The two bottom panels layed into the molds and weighted down | The stem secton of the bottom panels need to be twisted a lot and some ingenuity is needed to coax them into shape. The hydraulic jack may seem over kill, but the fine control it affords makes it the right tool. |
The first topside panel placed into cradle. Positioning is aided by the bulkhead lines drawn on the ply earlier. | A close up of the stem showing how all the panels meet and wire placement. |
