Next the mid bulkhead is fitted. Note that the keel has been filleted and glassed, but not the chines. Chines will only be glassed after the mid bulkhead and dg case have been epoxied in. | The daggerboard case set into thickened epoxy where it fits against the keel and mid bulkhead. A few temporary screws from the bulkhead into the case and also through the keel from below locate the case till the epoxy has set. |
The daggerboard case glassed in using three layers of 6oz (200g/m2) glass strips. | The stringers for the foredeck glued in and clamped with home-made clamps and a spreader. |
A deck beam has been fitted. | Templating the foredeck using hardboard pieces held together with screws at the corners. Each side can be fitted up individually, which makes it quick to get the final shape. |
A cleat on the daggerboard case which will receive a cross beam for the transverse mid seat. | Part bulkheads support the side seat and are installed with a temporary batten joining them at the top. |
This completes the installation of all bulkheads and before making up the seat tops, the outwale needs to be fitted. | The four strips of meranti and clamps set out ready for first lamination to go on. |
