Using a mast tube offcut makes setting up the mast partners/gate much easier. | The mast gate has been template routed |
Here a final check before drilling, the gate is held in place via two M6 threaded rods | The forward floor stiffeners have a fair bit of twist so I 'pre-twisted' them for a few days |
they conformed well after that and with a few weights were easy to glue down. | They look quite smart now, I just have to paint a bit of epoxy on to seal them. |
The next step was to make up breasthook and quarter knees and glue the foredeck and breasthook on. | Weights and clamps removed, the pointy end looks pretty good now. |
Dry fitting the quarterknees. It is best to leave them a little proud of the gunnel so one can fair the transition. | After the glue has set I could plane and sand the gunnel and round everything off with the router. |
