Forward edge of thwart will be thrimmed back and rounded off with router. This short section close to the topsides cannot be reached with the router and has to be cut back by hand and rounded off. | Close up of daggerboard case and doublers for lock glassed in. |
Forward end of daggerboard case to keel joint. Two 90mm wide 400g/m2 glass strips overlapped so the middle is 800g/m2 for extra strength. | The glue has set on the thwart tops and next the overlapping ply will be trimmed back with a flush trim bit and rounded off. |
Thwart finished off with two coats of epoxy. | The boat halves have been joined together firmly using the lock and M6 bolts. 3mm hardboard spacers between the mid-bulkheads will allow easy cutting of the gunnel which will be put on full-length to ensure fairness of the sheer. |
The gunnel is made up of three 10mm laminations. All three laminations are installed in one go. . | Note the locating screw near the bow transom and solid mark to help locate laminations during application of glue. |
Gunnels after removal of the many clamps... | Gunnel laminations trimmed back flush with bow transom. |
