Now to round off and fair the gunnel into the bow transom: mark the radius and saw off this piece. The rest is done with the belt sander.

Gunnel squared off and outer edge rounded off with router. Making up the blanks for the quarter knees.

Gluing in the quarter knees after cutting out and rounding off lower edge. The mid-bulkhead lobes are reinforced with two doublers each, here the first being dry-fit. Spacers ensure faces remain parallel.

All doublers have locating holes either side of the future bolthole. During glue up these locating holes receive dowels. In the meantime the quarterknees' glue has set and the top has been faired in by sanding and the upper edge has been rounded off.

To finish off the lower edge of the gunnels the boat is turned over... The lower edge of the gunnel near the bow transom needs to be tapered and faired to improve looks.
