After the glue has set, the mast base assembly is faired up during a final dry fit. | And the base is glued in and seal-coated. |

Another advantage is that there is enough material left to sand down flush with the bulkheads. | Locating disc glued on and the gap between rounded off bulkhead and gunnel filled. Note the small piece of mylar film which ensures the filler needs very little sanding and does not sag. |
Test assembly with locking plates and temporary 6mm bolts. | The boat halves are now turned over and the chine and keel gaps are filled and rounded off prior to glassing. |
