Building the 'Sinbad 2' kit - continued: |
|
The locating discs require a small chamfer (1 to 1.5mm). I am using a small angle grinder with soft disc, while rotating the disc with the drill. | The other part of the lock is assembled and tested against the aft mid bulkhead. |
Locating disc ready for dry fit, will be glued on at a later stage. | Dagger board case glue up. |
All external areas that will be glassed have a shallow recess routed | The recess is tapered by sanding. Taper runs out at half the width of the glass tape. |
All panels have been prepared and assembly can begin. | The stocks are pretty basic using a welded steel framework and treated pine runners. |
Mold spacing is marked off on the runners, a nylon line marks the centerline. The first mold is set up. | All the remaining molds have been fitted. Note there are two mid bulkhead molds. This allows building of each half separately. |
